History
Snowco began operating in the 1999/2000 season. After many years of watching some of our clients arriving on the slopes in sub-standard ski clothing, we decided to start our own rental. That way we could ensure that at the very least, our clients were being offered the opportunity to rent top quality, performance ski clothing.
Rather than just jumping into the market and joining the competition however, we decided to step back and take a look at how we could do things differently to create a cutting edge service. We were able to do this by offering a simple solution which only we could provide owing to our infrastructure and presence in resort. Simply put, our clients pre-pay and reserve their suits in the UK, and we deliver them in resort! This means not only does it save them masses of luggage space it also means if they have any difficulties with their suit (broken zip, expanding waistline), we are on hand with replacements available.
We teamed up with top ski clothing manufacturer Phoenix, to create a custom designed suit consisting of jacket and trousers that is ideal for the rental market. The garments are high performance and manufactured to an exceptionally high standard, using specially chosen fabrics. In fact they are exact replicas of the suits used by our Instructors and our Resort Staff!
Expansion
The next stage was when we began to consider the other essential items required by our clients for their week's skiing. There are many items that are needed such as eyewear, a warm hat, ski socks etc. Being in the industry we also knew that procuring these items can not only be expensive, but can also be difficult to source.
Using our massive buying power, we created the Alpine Essentials Accessory Pack. We sourced all those essential items required and neatly packed them ready for sale. We teamed up with some top sports' brands, who helped us design a unique range of high performance equipment specially for our clients. Because we buy in bulk, we get better rates which we are able to pass on. Not only do you save money, you also have convenience.
As well as our accessory pack, we also sell the contents on an individual basis. So if you're looking for ski gloves, ski socks, ski goggles, sunglasses, beanie hats, fleeces, sun protection or ski wear, weha ve something for you!
Snowsports are dangerous - that's a fact, and as the pendulum continues to swing in the direction of health and safety, we have kept abreast of this trend by offering safety helmets for rental in a comprehensive range of sizes.
We started with a small stock of Rossignol helmets, which, at the time was perfectly adequate. However, as the years passed and the demand has grown, our latest deal will see us purchasing 1500 brand new helmets, in a range of six sizes, from top brand Carrera. These helmets will all be ready for the start of the 2006/07 season.
Continual Improvement
At Snowco we continue to improve our service. Whether that's refining what we already do, or offering a new service to accommodate a change in trends or emergence of a new technology. By continually improving and moving forward, we can guarantee we will always deliver a grade A service.
